They will also compete in the UEFA Champions League having won the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history. Until 13th June 2012 their manager for the season had yet to be confirmed, as then first team manager Roberto Di Matteo was only appointed on an interim basis for the remainder of the 2011–12 season after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas. However, on 13 June 2012, Roberto Di Matteo was announced to have signed a 2 year contract, becoming Chelsea's permanent manager.

Nearest overground train station is West Brompton, which is well connected to London Waterloo and Victoria stations. The station is a 15 minute walk from Stamford Bridge.

Stamford Bridge is a football stadium on the border of Fulham and Chelsea, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham that is home to Chelsea Football Club. The stadium is located within the famous Moore Park Estate or also known as Walham Green. It is nicknamed "The Bridge" by the club's supporters. The capacity is 42,055, making it the eighth largest ground in the Premier League.
Opened in 1877, the stadium was used by the London Athletics Club until 1905, when new owner Gus Mears founded Chelsea Football Club to occupy the ground; Chelsea have played their home games there ever since. It has undergone numerous major changes over the years, most recently in the 1990s when it was renovated into a modern, all-seater stadium.

There are two bus stops outside Stamford Bridge on the Fulham Road. Fans can get to the stadium using the number 14, 211 and 414 buses.

By Train and Tube:
The nearest tube station is Fulham Broadway on the District Line. Take a train to Earls Court and change for Wimbledon-bound trains. There are two Overground stations near to Stamford Bridge, the closest being West Brompton. The second station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the stadium, is Imperial Wharf Station.
