Bloomfield Road, Blackpool’s football stadium has been the permanent home of Blackpool F.C. since 1901. Since 2000, the stadium has been redeveloped. The west stand was completed in August 2002 and most recently in March 2010, the south stand was opened by Jimmy Armfield, the Blackpool player who the stand is named after. The stadium holds a capacity of up to 12,555, however when it is fully completed the capacity should be 17, 625. On 17th September 1955, when Blackpool played Wolverhampton Wanderers a crowd of 38,098 attended at Bloomfield Road. The club’s mascot who appears at every Blackpool home game is Bloomfield Bear.
